Watching Oprah…lifelong struggle with weight…losing it in the public eye…
Up late and watching it now…
Watched biggest loser last night! So tired of watching others do it. And I still have not committed completely. Does anyone have a big hammer they can hit me over the head with? what is it going to take before I get it?
I have stopped binging. So things are leveling out for me…so it is looking more hopeful.
OMG there is Valerie Bertinelli in a bikini??? and did she say she is 47?

Why can she do it and I am not doing it? Coming up on my 1 yr anniversary here on BS…and when I read my old posts, when I was “on program”…it seems foreign to me!
Honestly, I know I am going to do it…but, just keep thinking when…when will I get it!? When will all the planets align…
when when when????
Last night I was thinking…just 500 cals less cals a day would equal a pound a week. And if I did 500 cals worth of exercise, that would be 2 lbs a week. So simple…yet…so ridiculously, seemingly out of the realm of possiblity…for me! I just can’t figure it out. I just gotta start getting REAL!
Now Marie Osmond. She is free. Started dieting when she was 10…when she heard someone refer to her as the fat little girl. Then told to lose more weight during the years with Donny and got in the 90’s. CRAZY!

Star Jones now…looking happy and good! Oprah told her she looked good…and she said, “Spanks!”
She got to 307! and lost 167 pounds…through gastric bypass. Oprah is asking her if she was really happy when she was overweight. She said…no…she had gotten so big…she was scared. She said she still dreams of her favorite thing…double wopper with cheese. She did the surgery…because she felt like she was dying. She realized she was depressed…and that was what caused her to overeat…turn to food. Eating alone. She said…she was faking it. Maybe that is what I am doing? Maybe I am hurting…and don’t know how to deal. She said she was “ashamed.” Well that I know about myself.
Her doctor told her she would have died if she hadn’t done it.
I don’t want to have to hear those words…Do or Die…but maybe that is what I need to start focusing on. That truly, if you ARE MORBIDLY obese…then doesn’t that mean…it is Do it or eventually you will Die?
She is discovering who she really is now, and said she had to lose the weight in her head…get healed emotionally.
Sorry…I am in a rambling mood…it is almost 2am…and I need to get on to bed.
Blessings to all of you on the road to recovery, to discovering who you really are, and getting real. Stepping out of the crysalis…and spreading your wings! I pray tonight, that God will give you the key to what will give you success for your journey!

I watched that Oprah too. It amazes me how many people struggle with weight. Don’t be hard on yourself. Weight loss is such a huge lifestyle adjustment and it takes a lot of work (which I am sure you know). When you are ready you will know it! Good luck!!

luv the butterfly pic ……….. i just wanna say that i use to think Star Jones was BEAUTIFUL , and after her sergury she just dont look the same to me . not that she aint beautiful now , just not as beautiful to me . i think she looked awesome the way she was ! she use to have a glowing beauty , and i just dont see that anymore ,
Hey girlie…. sometimes a programme like that or a trip to the docs is the best kick in the bum or hammer to the head you need to get yourself back “on programme”.
Weightloss is of course about looking good and making you feel better about yourself. But more importantly, it’s about getting healthy. It’s the only way to live a LONG and healthy life.
Get your focus back girlie. Dont look too far into the future. Get up today and tell yourself “today will be a GOOD day. I will treat my body with RESPECT and give it what it needs, not what I want”.
Hope today is a good one for you.
I am so happy to see you back! I haven’t seen you in awhile but I still think of you. I wanted to watch the Oprah show. Sounds like I missed a good one. I am glad you posted a blog cuz I have missed you! Have a great day!!!
You’ve heard it over and over again - one day at a time…well it’s true don’t focus on the big goal just focus on today and once you look back it’s been a week , a month, and then look at how far you’ve come….good luck and just do it. (I’m speaking more to me here LOL)
With me the turn around came when I passed 65, still fighting to take it off and only getting bigger each time I failed. I don’t want to die yet! If there was a way to get younger don’t you know we’d all be lined up to get the ‘magic cure’. Well, I tell myself I’ve gotten 57 pounds younger! It really keeps me going. Not that I don’t have my bad days, but the difference is I don’t give up. Can’t afford to. You will have your moment of awakening. Again and again if need be. But you will do it. Just don’t wait as long as I did. Do it now!!!

I don’t think I’ve ever watched a single episode of either Ophra or Biggest Looser. I dislike TV in general with the exception of a good show like House, Tudors, Rome or Firefly, but those are rare gems…. ‘Nyways, if you want to make one change in your life, how about stopping to watch the TV? Just think how many great, active things you can do instead of staring into the box that only depresses you, promotes eating crap and gets you to eat crap? Hmm?
Yeah well bet you anything Star Jones will fall off the wagon again because surgery is a temporary solution and seems so wonderful!!!! It doens’t change you mentally and doesn’t rid your old habits! I watch the Biggest Loser, and even though doing 2-6 hours a day is not possible for me, 1 hour will surely make a difference, and so will it with you! I think you’re doing great from what I’ve read, so just get back on the band wagon and get concentrate on your goals and the reasons why you want to achieve them, and do them for the right reason!!!
I didnt watch Oprah but I did start watching the Biggest Loser again. They are all such a great motivation. I think we need to see the struggles of others and their ultimate successes. It allows us to see its not impossible and if we keep trying, we too can see our goals come to life.
There will be something that triggers you back into go mode…..its you! Start one day and push yourself thru the next one when you really dont wanna….I have had to talk major business to myself to get back on track. I know you can do it.
Hang in there hun!
Thanks for writing this, it’s exactly what I needed to read today. Whenever I feel like I don’t want to workout or pass up an extra scoop of ice cream I’ll think of this post.
I hope you are able to get back on track and find your journey as well!
Thank you EVERYone!!!! I was writing to one of you and I realized how important staying connected is. I think it will be the spark that helps me relight the fire! And get busy!((((hugs))))
