Halloween candy is the debil!

Ok…is it just me, or is anyone else out there having problems binging lately?  Do you think it is all the halloween candy EVERYWHERE?

I have eaten soooo much chocolate…I am surprised I did not gain more than just a pound this week.

It is really crazy.  Everywhere I go there is candy and it is talking….no….SCREAMING at me to come and just have one little taste.  But then I go crazy with it.  Eating way toooooooooo much.

Help!

My challenge to everyone (especially all the biggest losers out there) is no more halloween candy.  NONE…

can we do it????  And do you have any suggestions on how I can defeat this debil?

Depriving yourself of it will only make you eat more. Set a goal at the beginning of the day that you will only have 1-2 pieces and that you will EXCERCISE to work it off…. 50 jumping jacks per piece, 1 mile per piece, etc. and follow through with your deal to yourself. Hold yourself accountable….. but don’t bash yourself about it. Life is no fun if you can’t enjoy some of the sweetness of it. ;) Just remember to limit yourself and again hold yourself accountable.

mmmm, those snicker’s look mighty good! hehe

Oh my! I love candy. I just have to stay away from it. I don’t even eat one piece b/c then I’ll binge. I will let myself have some Halloween night but other than that, I don’t buy it. And it will only get worse with Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s right around the corner. We must stay strong! I don’t know if you like junior mints or peppermint patties but they are low fat and if you are really, really craving something sweet I think it does the trick.

Don’t buy any is my suggestion.

candy corn is what I love…mmm mmm….like 22 of them for like 140 calories…not sure thats worth it though….

I like the fact that the Halloween candy is smaller and I can control the calorie intake better. In fact i just had 2 little twix bars! As long as i dont eat the whole bag…which is tempting…ill be ok.

I only buy the kind I don’t like, and then I won’t eat it! Gummy anything, blech…so that’s what I bought. I have no will power, so I don’t buy chocolate. I already know if it’s in my house, I will eat it.

    Mmmmm. Chocolate.
But seriously. I found that WW yogurt is AWESOME. They have a Boston Cream Pie that is to die for. I know it’s not Halloween candy, but it satifies my sweet tooth for only 1 point per cup. YUM! I’m working on a recipe that if I can get it right, will be a free cookie. Will let you know if I ever get it figured out.

OMG I don’t think I have ever seen so much candy in my life from a trick or treating haul like the one you have pictured. I have been binging the last couple of days and am not feeling to good about it…but it has not been on halloween candy..at least not yet…please let me be strong and resist the temptation to cheat…lol

I hate loving food so much! Holidays are hard especially when your child gets so much candy it last until the next halloween! I feel your pain!

I only buy the kind I don’t like, that seems to be the safest bet. I love those mint 3 musketeers and if I buy a fun size bag I might be able to control myself and only have 1 or 2 …………. but why risk it? Melissa’s right about those WW yogurts, they are yummy. I’ll try to stick with those. ;)

Luckily where I live we dont get trick or treaters…too far from anything. When I do buy it I buy gross stuff or tootsie pops. They are 1 point and last a while :)

Oh girl, it’s not just you! The couple of days before I started back into my diet I was hogging down Hershey and Twix bars like they were going out of style! Then when I stepped on the scale it said “One at a time please!”. that’s when I stopped eating it! I am going to try to stay away from those lil’ devils if it kills me! Good luck staying away from our little sweet devils! Hugs, Kimmi

Kids love sour candies like starbursts, and skittles. I don’t. That’s what I buy. Good quality, but I don’t eat them.

I actually like that we can get the fun size candy bars and will eat just two of them at a time for a snack (they’re only right around 80-90 calories for the two, depending on what it is). Trick is in not eating them daily, and sticking to my rule of only two. I think allowing myself to snack on these is a good thing because it prevents me from bingeing on them.

  17. AuntTeeTee @ October 7th, 2008

Just say nay..lol..I dont know. I bought some halloween candy when they first put it on the shelves. I made a mess of myself just like everyone else and now I have stopped buying it period. ;)

    my evils are peppermint patties and Reeses PB cups…. can never just eat one or two…. i’ll eat both bags and then wonder what happened — just can’t have them in the house ‘cuz i have NO self-control when they are around! very sad state… {{{{sigh}}}}
NO candy at all???!! i’m not sure if i can do that!!! but i am in (even tho i am not in the biggest loser challenge)

I bought some chocolate and usually I give it to my husband to regulate for me…but this time I didn’t….
    sooooooo….
I must admit I just can’t handle it. Still too compulsive around chocolate. Thanks for the pointers…

When you are craving chocolate you could eat a power bar or cereal bar that is coated with chocolate (south beach has one for 140 calories) or make a shake with chocolate with protein powder instead of going for the candy bars. It works for me :)

  21. doreyt @ October 7th, 2008

chocolate protein powder I meant to say :)

  22. nana4 @ October 7th, 2008

I just don’t buy candy! I have no will power when it comes to chocolate. I make sugar free fat free pudding or buy s/f f/f chocolate ice cream or there is a wonderful chewy bar they sell at Wal-Mart GV Benefit High Fiber Chewy Bar. The ones I really like are the Oats and Chocolate, they are 140 cal. and 9 grams of fiber! They are just like eating a candy bar to me! They also have an oats and peanut butter one that is 10 calories more!
    Have a good one!
    Big HUGS!

haha, this is so true! I went to the store and bought some of those Little Debbies pumpkin face cake things for the family because they are festive and they are the bomb! Well, I didn’t think I’d eat them, but I did. Then, we went to the store and I ate some Boston Baked Beans, and then I ate some more of those haha. I have been binging for 4 days now, and this morning I woke up and decided NO MORE!!!!
