I am worth it, aren’t I?

I have two appointments to meet with 2 trainers, at 2 gyms.  One today at 2:00.  Tomorrow at 12:00 noon.

Crazy how much it costs.  Crazy amounts of $.

Is it worth it?  Am I worth it?

Should I do this?

It will take almost ALL that I am making to pay for it…since I work part-time.

But both places are promising me they can help me…wonder if they will give me a money back guarantee???

The trainer I just talked to said I won’t like her…that if I leave the gym liking her, she hasn’t done her job.  She said she is also training for her first 5k…and I she will make sure I will be able to jog the whole way in the one I have signed up for in Nov.

Feeling hopeful again…but scared.  I want to cry just thinking about it.

It is a combination of things.

I feel sooooo guilty spending $ on me.  All those years I was poor…as a single mom…money was so hard to come by…just hard to spend it on me.

AND…I am scared of pushing myself.  Making myself do it.  The sweat and hard work it will take…the stuff it will bring up!

Oh well by Thurs I will know more…

Pray for me…courage and strength…no fear:)

Trainers are good only if you actually do and learn. They can really help teach you combinations of workouts, including how to do them correctly.
If you decide to pay for this, make it worth your while by truly sticking to their plan, workouts and eating. Don’t cave and do continue with their teachings after the sessons are done. If you do this, you will see weight loss, and then you will feel great about spending that money.
Anyway, I feel it’s okay to spend money on ourselves, we just can’t take it for granted.

    Good luck.

If you have the money and it won’t get your utilities cut girl GO FOR IT! Even if you just do a couple of sessions you can take what you learn from them and make your own workouts! I would love to get a trainer but NO WAY I could afford it. We spend so much time and money taking care of others as moms that when you get the chance to do something for you DO IT! You deserve it!

Heck yeah you’re worth it! Did I read your post correctly in that the one trainer is training for her first 5k? I dunno if I’d want to go to a trainer who hasn’t yet run three miles. A 5k is a lot to people like us, but to people who are fitness trainers for a living…well, they should be able to run just over 3 miles without having to train for it. Either way…if you can afford it, go for it! :o)

You are so worth it! :)

The money will be well spent. Hey, look at it this way, the money you spent with the PT is better spent on your healthy and body then to later pay high bills for doc/hospital visits.

I say go for it. Just think of Jillian when you are being pushed. I believe most people become trainers because they have a good heart and want to help others. Just get in there & learn. You will be great. YES you do deserve it!

As you said in your comment to me ‘i’m worth it’! Not only are you worth spending the money on, but this small event - in the larger scale of things - will get you closer to your goal(s) and therefore is an investment, not an end in itself! And you are worth investing in!!

I went to the mall and found these wonderful shoes that I felt sexy in. $40! no way am I gonna pay that I am so cheap.

3 hours later I am paying for the dinner I had with my boyfriend since it was my turn to treat $62.

    How screwed up is that??????

girl if you can pay a personal trainer
    worth every cent

I wont bother to repeat everything that everyone else has already said…though I was thinking those same things lol. My only deal is the trainer that said if you leave still liking her she hasnt done her job…it just depends on what YOU need to keep you going…cause so many trainers are calm, supportive and teach well.
Ok…I have to say it even if its been said already bunches of times…You are SO worth it!! lol (couldnt leave without saying it..lol)
    Good luck girl….Debbie

You are worth any amount of money and time needed to get you healthy. Our greatest investment is ourself. You were created for a special purpose and I believe that you can do this. You already took the first step and made the appointments to meet with trainers. I am a praying woman and I will place you on my prayer list for wisdom and strength. Good luck and remember you are special!!

You SO deserve this! And, yes, it is so hard to spend money on the “non-essential” things. You know, what, though, this might just be an essential. the cost now will save you money in therapy, medical bills, and grief. you go for it! and, yes, pers training is also scary - i can feel like such a loser, but, really, they are there to help and to teach. Even my super athletic friend goes to learn new things or to get motivated!

    wow…
    you guys are so sweet…
I am still wrestling with the idea. I met with one of the trainers today…it scared me. Seriously…He smelled good…but was a little…um…lets say…rough around the edges…and get this…
HE gets 79/hr to train…he has degrees.
    thinking…
Once I become an athlete maybe I should be a trainer…so I can make the big bucks…????
I will keep you posted…tomorrow is the next meeting…wonder what that will hold?
