Got a bargain book…signed up for a new 5k?…so excited, I ran…@ 6.5mph!!!

The Biggest Loser Book

Today I worked at camp and afterwards, I had to run by the grocery store and they had some books on sale…50% of the already reduced price.  I couldn’t believe it, but they had the Biggest Loser book!  And I got it for $2.00!!!!  Don’t you just love a bargain?   When I got home, I needed a nap, so I took it with me to bed, and I am in it a ways, and so far I love it.

The food plan seems completely doable!  I am going to try it.  They suggest NO processed foods!  None, nada…zill.  That will be a change for me.  Like crackers and low fat chips with my sandwiches.  Also, ONLY 2 servings of whole grains a day, but lots of protein…throughout the day…like at every meal.   They suggest eating 7cals x your current weight to lose.  I eat 1500 or less with the plan I am on…but I am going to go up to the 1652 they suggest!

They also had something in there about interval training, and running as fast as you can AND it got me curious… picture1.gif

After my nap, I had to go to the community center for my next shift.  When I got to work at the community center, there was a stack of flyers my manager asked me to fold.  I bunch of them!   Guess what?  They were for the Turkey Trot 5k in November, this is the picture from the front of it.  After folding them all…I just had to sign up.  So I did!!!

Now I have a new goal.  I want to run this whole race.  No wogging…maybe jogging…but I want to do it!!!!  It is on Nov. 22nd.  So I have time to train.

After I got off at 10:00pm, I went to the gym for a quick workout.  I got on the treadmill…and had 45 mins.  Started my podrunner interval training…and my MP3 player died…so I thought about the book…and decided I am going to see how fast I can run.  And so, after my warm up, I cranked it up, I was at 7mph…but I couldn’t quite keep up…but at 6.5, I could maintain it.  Not for long…but hey that is soooooo much better than when I started.  I would go back down to 4.5 after a little while…and then back up.  I love interval training like that.  I can tell my heart is so much stronger now.   Wow…I feel good.  Proud of me!

Here is a GREAT article about interval training!

I am looking forward to reading more of the book…it is so encouraging…but I gotta go to bed now.  It is already 1:00am…and I gotta go to summer camp early in the morning:)  Oh yeah…and I NEED that beauty sleep for sure!!!!

Oh, my gosh, it’s my buddy. You go buddy. I love bargains and I love books, but I haven’t tried interval training. My weight didn’t budge today and that’s sad. I got up at 4am. I am still on S. Korea time. So I am writing my peeps. 6.5 mph. WOW !

YES that’s what I’ve been doing interval training that’s what I call my workout training - it’s very cool. I’ve started doing that when I am jogging on the treadmill too and I like it a lot. Good luck! I’ve also been on a high protein diet as well (every meal) it’s a change for me too but it’s been working. I’ve only been on it for the past week but I’ve seen a boost!

I have been doing the high protien low fat low carb and only complex carbs for a while now and it works. My energy has gone up, my overall mood has gotten better, and I am not hungry all the time. I have no cravings anymore it is awesome. Good luck to you. I also do the circuit training, it helps to increase your fitness level.

7 x weight = cals to eat to lose weight!
    12 x weight = cals to maintain!
